Hi all! I''m debating between two diamonds online, and I''m ready to purchase one or the other on Monday. This first one is one grade more colorless and a very tiny bit larger, but I am slightly concerned that it might not have quite as good of a cut. I''d love to know what you think about the cut versus color dilemma I have with these diamonds. Here is the ideal scope:

.866 James Allen Hearts and Arrows Ideal
VS2
I

This one appears more symmetrical to my eye, but it has lower color. My girlfriend and I are okay with J color, but I would prefer the James Allen I-color above if you all thought the cuts were equally good. So here they are--what would you do?

.83 Whiteflash ACA
VVS1
J
$2800

The I is very nice. I don''t think you''ll be disappointed.

+1 - if you like the I, go for it! It''s a very good image.

Cut wise both are very nice.
clarity / colour should be your own choice

I agree. Personally, I would prefer to pay for color (which I can see) than clarity (which I cannot, in these VS stones.)

I agree with everyone else and like Icekid would get the higher color.

I''m so happy you all think the higher color diamond is well cut! I plan to pull the trigger tomorrow. The rings have already been made, and I''m having it set locally. I''ll be sure to post pictures when it''s done! Thanks everyone!
