Dear FI forgot to wish me a Happy B-day this morning...

Should I make him pay????

He left this morning early, and as he usually does, kissed me and said "Have a good day baby, I love you." Only today, he didn't wish me a Happy Birthday. Obviously he forgot it even WAS my B-day. I haven't heard from him yet (waiting for HIM TO CALL ME).

So what should I do? Let him off the hook or MAKE HIM SUFFER???

I would wait to see what he''s up to.

FI didn''t wish me a happy b-day either yesterday and was calling me all day and still no happy b-day. Then I got my "special delivery" at work and it was roses from him. He hadn''t forgotten, he just wanted to surprise me.

Maybe he''s up to something.

No - I was not being sarcastic. Even if there is some suprise - you ought to wish someone a happy birthday first thing in the morning. And I agree - do not remind him today - that would give you more leverage in case he forgets it alltogether (God forbid). Keep us posted!
And btw - hapy birthday!!!! (almost forgot, lol)

Well, its a little after 3PM and I haven't heard from him yet--which is a bit unusual since he usually calls me around noon. I'll admit (I've told you all before, my man is a bit ADHD) he's not great with dates, but when its his birthday, he makes certain that I remember it, trust me! Unlike myself who is not really big on birthdays...Im not really that upset

.

However, important or not, it is my birthday and you'd think the man that wants me to be his wife would think thats a special enough reason to at least acknowledge it, no?

I'll give him until tonight, after that, he's toast.

well i know in my case DH sent flowers and they sat in the mail room for hours and hours before being delivered around 4pm. Happened several years in a row. So you never know...

And if your FI did forget, he is going to feel soooo guilty that he''ll more than make up for it I''m sure!

He was reminded that it was my birthday when my mother called to wish me a happy birthday and ask what we did to celebrate and he answered the phone. That conversation went something like:

Since he has an overactive conscience, he punished himself way worse than I ever would have. And, on the plus side, I am permanently one up on him because he forgot my birthday.

Yea, see I think its hilarious. If he forgot (looks like he did

) really, its not that big of a deal. He forgets a lot of things due to his overactive, sometimes space cadet, brain. I just find it interesting that for HIS birthday, he makes sure I don''t forget--I never do!

I can tell you when people from elem-college have birthdays... even people who only tell me once, but sometimes, even though I KNOW the day, ON the day, it doesn''t register. I remember talking to my brother on his b-day and not remembering. I felt so stupid! I''ve taken to putting alarms in my phone after that happened. I DO remember the birthdays but shoot, I am getting old and apparently my brain space is cluttered and doesn''t always function properly.
