Stop by a local jeweler to check out a diamond.

1.1 Carat
Color: G
Clarity: IF
Triple Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Don't have the specs on the dimensions, but they also market this diamond as a H&A under their brand. It has a GIA certificate so I wouldn't know if its really a H&A like ones certified by HRD.

Asking price was $12,000 but I should be able to lower it by a little more, but not much I'm guessing. Would this be a decent deal for a brick and mortar store? I'm seeing prices of around $10,000 - $12,000 online.

18k white gold setting will cost another $400, there will be no taxes based on where I live.

You'll want a hearts picture, or for them to show you the hearts under a hearts viewer to confirm nice hearts as they advertise. It is not a safe assumption that H&A always means well-cut, definitely scrutinise the stone in various lighting conditions and seriously consider having it professionally appraised (by an independent appraiser)

Price is a little higher than other well cut GIA G IFs I'm seeing - the brand premium would account for this though.

I can't find any 1.1 G IF stones on the pricescope search function- but comparable G VVS1 1.1ish excellent H&A stones..

Looks like your stone is about 1,500 more than these stones- BUT factor in that your stone is an IF not a VVSI so there is the added "premium" cost for the IF clarity, AND the fact that it is a b&M store branded cut stone. So pricing seems about right...

Like Yssie said- check it out in all lighting conditions to see how it performs in day light- shade, store lighting is always flattering!.... and ask for hearts and arrows images so you can verifty what they say.
