Hey gang:

Once in awhile I like to pop in to our buddy Fred''s website to see what he is up to and see how many people he is screwing over. I like to check in to his Q&A portion of his website and at times I wish we could reply and just say what an A** this guy is. Anyway, I thought I''d share the latest *scare tactic* that he is using to get people to call *his gemologists*.

Q. My fiance bought my diamond and setting from diamonds.com. Is this a reputable company to buy diamonds from? They provided us with a GIA report. Can this report be trusted?

A. (Fred''s response) Q#1: Define reputable. Q#2: Lab reports these days are rittled with mistakes. The Diamond Guy

So, I guess Fred is the only one who can provide the *real* information about a diamond because others, like the GIA, simply can''t figure it out right!

Another thing that I saw that made me angry was this: The rule is 61%, anything else is not bondable. The Diamond Guy

I just can''t believe that this guy can get away with his Fred''s only rules!!!!!!!!!!! It is driving me crazy. I don''t know why I keep looking.. It is like a car crash, it is bad but I can''t look away.

Sure he can get away with it. There are really no regulatory agencies on the internet. It is just a case of let the buyer beware. And it is good of you to alert people about this person.

Where is his website...just so I can have a good laugh

I just read the guy''s "The Real Thing" about how to tell if a diamond is real or not. What a laugh! Has "The diamond guy" never heard of a diamond tester? There is also a moissanite tester now too.

So is Fred a diamond guy and a relationship guy? Very interesting combination. I don''t like him.

Can you say RED FLAGS??

According to his website..his "wife" is the relationship expert...but who knows, he might be so also. I don''t like him either. I think he is praying on the consumer''s ignorance. I almost got caught in his bull.. If I hadn''t found pricescope, I probably would have bought a diamond from the *warped* salesman because he had me convinced that only he was genuine and only he could provide me with the quality diamond that I was looking for. Because anything less than a class 2 diamond is not "bondable."

I called his gemologist department because they said that they would help the consumer negotiate or find a "bonded" jeweler in their area. They called me back and surprise surprise they didn''t have a list of "bonded" jewelers, however, they had one even better. They could "cut" the diamond from the rough especially for me!! Imagine that, a diamond cut to exact proportions. Anyway, I even put a deposit on this "cut to order" stone. I did it because he had me convinced that NO ONE else was able to provide me with this service and that his price was good. Why wouldn''t you want a "bonded" stone he told me? I said well, it is pricier. Well it only costs $1 per $100, is peace of mind for life worth that? Anyway, the guy is a slime! I am sure he has gotten many innocents with that book he wrote and his gemologists. He used to have a blurb on the my gemologist page that said that it was endorsed by the Washington D.C. fraud department or something, which, incidently 1) I could never find a webpage for on the net, and 2) he has recently removed from his site! So..

Im off it now,

Have a great one!

This guy is pure slime. The funniest part to me is that DCI themselves sent me an error-filled Megascope report!! When I emailed them and told them that their numbers were impossible (THANKS PRICESCOPE!!) their response was that the machine might not have been calibrated properly. It''s more likely that the crooks at DCI are too stupid to properly falsify a Megascope report.

But here''s what REALLY peeves me: I wrote a review on Amazon about their book, titled "Thinly veiled marketing ploy with useful background" wherein I exposed the "bonded" hooey, the 61% max depth, etc. It was up for about a week then got mysteriously pulled down!! Lo and behold, practically ALL Amazon reviews are glowing. That infuriates me.

Wow Racer! I can''t believed they pulled your review! Well now we know why Fred Cuellar only has glowing reviews!
