He was important!
We
need trail blazing artists.

Way too soon, R.I.P..

DK :confused2:

The original Dune - what a visual treat!

HI:

This:

cheers--Sharon

I loved that movie.

For those who have seen Mullhholand Drive ...

I won't watch explicit violence and gore.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but thought that film was pretty extreme.

Should I not see that film?
I hear it's rated very highly.

We saw it over 20 years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy. It was/is a great film but yes violent. I did have to not watch certain parts. My dh lets me know when it is safe to start watching again as I cannot tolerate violence and gore but still worth watching IMO. Lots of movies I have to cover my eyes/not look in certain parts. I am used to doing so because of my aversion to violence

Thanx. :wavey:

I can't watch violent movies but I'd watch this again. It's David Lynch, it's fiction, and Naomi Watts is luminous.

Long ago you could tell by the music and camerawork that something terrible is about to happen ...
Snowflakes like me could rely on those signals to close our eyes.
And if the approaching moment was horrifying enough we didn't just close our eyes, we also had to lift our hands to cover our eyes. LOL

That film maker kindness has melted away lately.
The most offending example I've seen is in Quentin Tarantino's 'Pulp Fiction'.

There's a scene in which the two hired assassins are in the front seat; their bound, tied, and kidnapped victim is in the back.
Samuel Jackson is driving and John Travolta (who's riding shotgun, pardon the pun) just casually turns back to talk to the victim.
His gun happens to be in his right hand and happens to be pointing into general direction of the back seat area (but he's not intentionally pointing at the victim.)

Suddenly the car hits a bump and the next instant you see was filmed from a camera in the car behind them
You hear a gunshot and the back window is completely splattered with blood and brains.

No warning music, fast editing!:sick::sick:
All us delicate snowflakes had no choice but to see it! :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

I didn't need that! :knockout::knockout::knockout:

HEY!
It's streaming on "CC", the Criterion Channel, FREE!
Well not free, included in the monthly payment.

Based on recommendations here I'm gonna watch it.

Good Glob! I LOVE the Criterion Channel!
It's like having a gourmet cook in your own kitchen ... but for curated films.

Right now CC is streaming a "Celebrating David Lynch" event, with 10 of his works and a 2016 full length David Lynch documentary.

Daughter had Blue Velvet on her long list of classic movies to watch. I tried to tell her numerous times it was weird, but we watched it yesterday. She just kept muttering, "This is so weird!" :lol-2:
