I originally posted in another section, but I think this one is more appropriate....
I just joined so forgive me. Quick Question...Why do I see dark areas in my Princess Cut Diamond when I look at it in direct blazing sunlight? It is great looking in jewelry stores, in regular office lighting and even outside, but on stage under bright lights or in direct blaring sunlight (it''s been so sunny and hot in Florida) I see dark areas. Is it leakage? Is my table too large? (I thought I read that the table should be smaller than the depth...alot of good that does me, since I''ve already purchased the stone) It still sparkles, but doesn''t look as white because of the dark areas. Here are the specs.
measurements 7.61x6.95x5.00
Weight 2.11
Depth 71.9
Table 74
Girdle Med
Culet None
Polish/Symmetry VGood
Clarity Vs1
Grade G
Flurescence Faint

Sorry, I don''t have any other specs. being that it is GIA certified.

Also, for you professional diamond experts, what is a fair price for this peice? Thanks for your help and advice.

Good point. All diamonds I've reviewed are GIA cert, not AGS. Why doesn't GIA provide the crown and pavillion angle information?

Not an expert... but I do not really understand what you refer to. Diamonds are not torch lights - there will always be some dark areas in them and some are good to have (see 'contrast').
