Recently my SO and I found a great ring on bluenile that we liked but was in platinum. We have been doing a lot of shopping at B&M stores and am starting to get frustrated. I had a quote on a ring go from $1500 and then got a call back that it all of a sudden is $4000 then on the phone they said oh we could do $3300.

No thanks...so finally after some research I found the style of the ring to be called an x-prong. Would be nice of a jewler would have known this.(I brought some GREAT pictures in)

So I found the D. Vatche X-Prong and it looks great. I want it in white gold, .5 carrat center stone and some side stones as well.

I would like to see the ring in person but I live in ND and there isn''t much of retailers around here. Any idea of a place that would carry this ring?

Also, is it common for a place to want 20% down for a special order that is refundable?

I tried some on when I was in a city that had them, and I have to say that they look even better in person than online! Beautifully made and so much more graceful than the stock x-prongs I''ve seen. I think you''ll be very happy with one even if you order it sight-unseen!
I personally preferred the regular x-prong to the royal x-prong because I wasn''t fond of how the royal''s shank narrowed as it approached the head (setting where the diamond is). But people who like narrower ring or have smaller hands than me often like that look.

I might have found a place thanks to the helpful staff at eclipse, waiting to hear back from the jewler or I''ll just visit this weekend.
