D IF stone search

HI:

Seems I have been out of the loop forever--well hardly, but need a bit of assistance. Please.

Looking for a D IF stone, .50-.75 ctw. To set in a knife edge ER setting or perhaps an antique like setting. I have looked a little, but would appreciate any input. H & A nice, but not essential. D IF requsite......that said, I might consider an E VVS1.

My memory is failing--or did I see that BGD had a "sale" on diamonds not that long ago....

Doing a quick search, looks like Blue Nile and BGD are the only folks readily showing D IF stones. It would probably be worth a call to a few vendors to see what they have.

Is this a new project for yourself? Sounds delicious!!

I miss my RB and cannot wear my ER to work. Altho I have been wearing my eternity ring, I usually feel it is a bit "large". Too, I am enamoured with high color and clarity.

I would want the D, Sharon, but not the IF. Do you remember the stone I got in my Bellerina pendant? I wish I could look in the archives. I know if was bought through Whiteflash when Brian Gavin was there. I think it might have been an E VVS. Not because I had wanted a VVS, but because a VVS was all that was available in that color and cut.

So what is your budget? Is the JA stone I suggested above your budget? I didn't concentrate on the lower 0.5c stones so I can look again if I know what kind of budget you are working with. I can search for E VVS1 too?

SC--truth is I don't have a set budget. At the outset, I looked at stones from .4-.75 but did not study the details of any one stone, only the difference in price to jump the "mark" of half carat. I think the jump to half carat (and above) is "worth" it to me, so now I will look only in that range. Would you not agree that there is a dearth of DIF stones that are H & A/AGS 0, so I would like to find one certed by GIA that is a worthy, "excellent". I would like to stick with the DIF because everytime I see EVVS1, then I say OK then VVS2, then F....and and and......

Found one on serenity diamond. Not sure of the H&A or the proportions though. You can try asking for H&A images and idealscope image, they should be able to provide it.

Or you could try BN SI? They claim to be H&A but not supporting evidence.

I agree--pretty clear!
I really like the simple 6 prong settings of yore--I tried on a few the other day (estate) and liked the presence. Yet there are some revival settings that are devine.

I figured it is faint fluor anyway, you will not see the effect unless you are in a dark room with UV source.
