Hi,

My head is spinning as I have been glued to this site for the past couple days....this is truly addictive, but i am a perfectionist by nature so no big surprise there. i just read an old posting regarding cut quality.......someone said that GIA can always provide the sarin information you just need to call them? is this definitely true? if so, can the consumer call directly or do i need the jeweler i bought it from to call... (could be a problem since they claimed to not know what this is!)

Any clarification on this would be helpful and would save the cost of an appraisal... i had never heard this before so i am skeptical (but i am a novice, so what do i know?). I thought GIA did not rate cut, so why would they ever do a sarin?

GIA Sarin every diamond - they use the info for measurements and table size.
They also use the dimensional data base to identify resubmitted diamonds.
I believe the original dealer who submitted the stone for grading will be the only person that can request the data.
