Hi everyone, I''m pretty new on here still, so I''m not sure if this is the right forum to post this on...
Recently my SO and I purchased a rare cut sapphire from Precision Gem and are trying to get it set in an engagement ring (see thread & pic here).
This afternoon we went to Greenlake Jewelry Works to have a consultation and get an estimate. The lady who helped us was very nice and helped come up with some good ideas, however the estimate for what we felt was a fairly simple design in 14K white gold was way more than we were expecting, particularly considering that the price of the stone is included. So we are hoping to check out some other possibilities. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good reputable jeweler who does custom settings (must be custom to work with the shape of the stone) but is not as costly as Greenlake? Something in the Seattle/Puget Sound area would be great too, as I am really reluctant to work with a jeweler entirely via email.
