Cushion vs. Square Radiant cut

Hi PS'ers

I've been lurking around for years, and it's been such a great resource!

My bf and I have started the search for the perfect stone. I've always had my eyes set on a cushion cut with a halo. We've actually narrowed it down to SK's http://www.stevenkirsch.com/showroom/engagement-wedding-bands/halo/ref-0109.html

Steven's begun searching for a stone for us, and he sent me several cushions which I didn't like, but then he forwarded me a square radiant which he thinks is unbelievable! I told him I always liked the "softer" look of a cushion, but he replied saying that the SR set in double prongs will look like a cushion.

We're looking for a stone around 1.5 carats.

Advice?

Yes, you can post the certificate but that wont tell us much with radiants. We really need pictures and aset images.

I think it is classified as a radiant because of the clipped corners?

anyway, per the AGS report it gets ideal light performance. it looks like a beautiful diamond. I think it could have a more 'cushiony' outline depending on how the halo is done. my diamond is very similar but with rounded corners and it is not a 'flat top' stone.

also I wanted to add that the arrows do not look that black in real life. here are some pictures that sort of show what they look like (obviously depends on lighting/other conditions)

it will look pillowy soft, the eye naturally goes to the outline of the halo, not the center stone.

Agreed- GIA does not use the term "Radiant Cut"- nor is the term "Radiant Cut" a good description of the stone in the pictures.
