Hi all!

So, we are looking at a few cushion cut diamonds. I wanted to know your opinion of these. I really like the one under the red arrow, but does it look like it has a black thing in it?

The one under the blue arrow is also pretty, but $1000 more expensive. Specs for the one under the blue arrow: .98 F VS2, measurements: 5.95 x 5.93 x 3.99 It has a feather and a cloud and the polish is excellent and symmetry is very good.

I do not know the specs for the other cushion cut

Out of these 3, which one would you choose? :)

Maybe I am missing something, but I can''t see any arrows.

Personally I like the look of the first one, on the left. There''s not much else we can say about them other than what we visually like, as there are no stats, or ASET pics. I would never recommend a stone just on a pic, sorry!

Hi Ellen!
Oh! Sorry about that. the arrows were cropped out in order to size it down :)

Thank you for your input. I am waiting for the specs for the other diamonds.

Thank you again! :)

The red arrow is the one on the left? I do see a black speck (inclusion) in it!

The one on the right appeals to me most.

Hai MC,

Thank you! :) Yes, the one on the left is the one with the blackspot on it.

The diamond is highly magnified so the black speck may only be visible under such conditions. . .can you call the vendor and ask if the diamond is eye clean when seen in person? Oh, and the reason I like the one on the right is because the shape is more appealing to me, not because of the black speck.

as for shape, the far right appeals to me more. But looks like the far left is larger? and with a larger culet but may possibly have larger flashes though which I also love. Dunno, toughy without any more info.

1) Pictures only tell you something about the facets. One on the left is an 8 main cushion brilliant (OMC Cut), One in the middle looks like chunky facets but really can''t even tell its faceting, One on the far right is a modern cushion brilliant (thin 8 main). You are comparing apples to oranges. Also pictures dont'' tell you anything about optical performance or light return, you will need an ASET and/or seeing them in person to tell how well they each return light. If you get the ASET post them here and we can tell you about the light return of the stone.

2) You are also comparing a perfect square cushion far right to more rectangular ones this is a personal choice.

3) A comparison of a modern cushion to a more chunky style cushion has been done here http://www.vimeo.com/6010981 this should help you a little but it won''t be exactly representative of the stones you are choosing. Although the one in the middle in this video is similar to the one on the far right in your lineup, and the one on the far left is similar to the one on the right side in the video.

4) If you like cushion on the far left and you might consider any of these OMC cushions http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamondResults.php?shape=4194304&resultsColumns=270516623 guaranteed to be optimized for light return under the table. (Notice the 4 big bright mirrors under the table in all of them) you won''t find this in most other Old Mine Cut cushions.

Good-luck,
CCL

Hi All,

Thank you very much for your help :) I will get you the rest of the information soon when my SO hands me the paper. I haven''t seen these in person, and am leaning towards the one with the black spot, but would be very sad if it ended up that i could see it

Just make sure you have someone with good eyesight inspect it thoroughly for you. If you don''t want to see it/anything from any distance or angle, be sure to tell them that!
