Cushion cut diamonds in NYC

Hi. I am new to this forum, which I think is great. So, my boyfriend and I are talking engagement and rings. He has asked me to bookmark things over the internet to get an idea of what I like. I think I would love a cushion cut diamond and was wondering if anyone could recommend a place for us to check out? We walked around the DD one day and it was a nightmare. People hang outside of their stores and stalk you to go in and look at their diamonds. I'm not interested in buying anything from people who do business that way.

Any places in NYC you could recommend? Thanks!

mark at engagementringsdirect.com found me my cushion. i can't recommend him enough. he has an office (but not a storefront) in a building in the diamond district area.

I live in NYC so have toured the DD. Some places seem great and some others, well, annoying.

yes, i agree. however mark is extremely trustworthy (do a search here for his name or for engagementringsdirect) and his prices are fabulous. also: GOG is on long island and i've heard nothing but the best about them.
