Curve ball... Is this a good cushion from JA?

So I've been looking at rounds. I have avoided cushions all together because I didn't think I they were my style until a rep from JA sent me this one and I fell in love! It's the only cushion that has ever gotten my attention. I like the chunkier facets without being too chunky.

*Edit: the stone does not have to be perfect just perform well*

What do you think?

I'm not too sure about that cloud in the center... but hopefully it's eye clean.

Thoughts?

The JA gemologist can tell you whether or not it's eye-clean. I'm hoping cushion experts will weigh in on whether or not it's a good stone.

One thing - it does face up a little bit smaller than a round of comparable weight. Are you ok with that?

Ahh true.
At this point I've had larger diamonds that have been flat and dull so I'm finally realizing I'd rather have a smaller more lively stone

I don't think an ideal cut RB would be flat and/or dull. A cushion will be a different look though and shoot off different flashes of light. If this stone seems right to you, then there's no harm getting an ASET for further evaluation. :)

OOps I should've been more clear. I mean fancy shapes not rounds. I've never been a fan I am just now beginning to warm up to them.. (rounds that is)

Hi! Did you make a decision on what stone you're going with? Waiting on ASETs from JA?

I actually passed on this one.. It just didn't feel right. The search continues.

I'm sorry, but that's a great move if it doesn't feel right to you. Hope you find the stone you're looking for! Have you decided on a shape yet?

If I had a limited budget I would get the PSr's with Ebay experience to help me find an antique ring or stone on ebay so I could get a larger stone. Just start a new thread asking for ebay help and they will give you lots of suggestions and opinions.

Something like this antique cushion...you can "make and offer" on this stone and it is much larger than the stone on JA; the depth is 58.2% which gives it a nice spread (large face up for it's weight):

or I would go with GOG AVC, which are awesome performers ...an excellent cut L will still face up pretty white:

Hope this helps.

I'm still rocking back and forth between shapes.. one day I'll consider one and the next day I'll want something else LOL

I'm just going to sit it out and keep looking for now.
