Crown %??

Hi all! What is corwn % and how does this effect the diamond?

For example, a crown % of 16%..what does this mean?

Oh, and this is for a princess cut.

This diagram shows main proportions of a diamond. As you can see, crown height is the distance from girdle to table.

Keep in mind, you cannot consider one parameter without the others e.g. table, pavilion, etc.

I plugged all the spec into DIY Grade on gemappraiser.com and got a 3A rating with 16% crown. With 15% crown I get a 2B rating. Should I be this picky?

I am no expert, just a fellow princess lover but I would honestly suggest buying an idealscope to better judge them. They really need to be judged visually above all.
