My mother Just passed away, three weeks ago today, I was sorting through her jewelry woth my sisters and they gave me this yellow stoned ring later at home upon looking I see the stamp (925 UTC )but the setting is Gold?? Well after research and looking into the open bottom of the ring through the stone I see a line all the rainbow very vivid I'm freaking out I'm thinking I got a jem worth a bit. So I'm here, what a blessing if this is true,
Anyone got any tips because the photos are posted on my page
This thing has all colors almost but yet the bling seem a tad bit dukll

You need to take it to a jeweler first, get the stone tested to be certain.

But if it's stamped 925 I'd say it's silver that's been gold plated.

It also has a waxy luster that doesn't look like a diamond.

Again though, take it to a jeweler to start.

Yes, the stamp would likely mean plated silver and it would be unlikely to have diamond (especially a fancy colored stone) mounted in silver.

If it's set in silver, very unlikely. Also that would be a HUGE yellow diamond to not know about.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you have many good memories of your mother to help you through this time.

I agree with the others. .925 indicates that the setting is silver, which means it's highly unlikely the stone is a diamond.

I realize it's probably a little dirty but the refraction and the faceting aren't indicative of a diamond. Maybe a yellow topaz or, if you are lucky, a heat only sapphire. The fact that it's set in silver really makes it most likely to be topaz or similar though.
