Hi ladies! I Had to share this peice of info with you. There is now a present from SO to me along with our other presents, its a small square box! its wrapped so i cant say anything for sure, or peek lol. I did do a tiny bit of investigating and picked it up, it felt very light and also felt like it might be a cardboard box like some jewelery comes in. Do ering boxes come with a box like that to put them in too? Still have a little wait to know for sure. What do you ladies think? Is there anything else it could be? Hes never bought me jewelery before and I doubt with all our engagement talk he''d buy me some other jewelery other than an ering.

One other peice of info. He said we will really need to pinch pennies in the coming months because he spent alot of money on my gift.

I don''t know. But you get all the dust I have!
*dust*

ooooh!! that sounds exciting!!!!!

*******lots of dust to you!********

I kind of feel your pain waitinlady...I made my BF wrap my gifts last night because there wasn''t a single present under our tree that I hadn''t bought. I noticed something in my stocking and I went to look at it and he forbade me to take it out (even though it was wrapped) or to even look inside! I''m working from home today so I can''t help but stare at my stocking...the suspense is killing me!!!!!!

HUMM....Sounds fishy but you never know

ok all signs point to an e-ring. But other jewlery can come in similar boxes. Dont get too excited in case its not. BUT like other has said...

DUST is going your way

Cbs- it basically looks like a perfect cube, same length width and height all around. I''ve never owned a nice ring before so I dont know how the jeweler gives it to you. Is it usually a ring box within another box? Sammy- guess we will both know soon, keep me updated! I''ve been racking my brain trying to think of anything that comes in that small of a box thats not jewelery, and I cant think of anything. I know I shouldnt get my hopes up too much. I''ll be happy whatever it is but this sure is exciting!

both my e-ring and wedding band came in ring boxes that were inside of a little box with a lid. Sending tons o'' dust your way!

my e-ring came in a wooden ring box and that was in another box with a lid..it was just a little taller-

I hope it is!

And after he proposes, you can bop him once on the head for having an engagement ring under a Christmas tree all this time! What a brave man!

I hope it is a ring, since that is what you are hoping, but am I the only one who thinks it would be insane!!! to put a ring under the tree?

On second thought, my dad put my mom''s e-ring inside a bell X-mas ornament and had it hanging on the tree... so I guess men are just CRAZY!

I know what you''re saying trill. One of the first thoughts I had when I saw it was ''would he really have the guts to put it under the tree and tease me like that?'' My next thought was if its not an ering, wouldn''t he realize I might get other ideas when I saw the box, especially when he''s happened to mention before that he might already have the ring? He is very sweet but definitely not into big over the top stuff so this is something I could see him do. I mean he isnt the flowers and candy or jewelery giving kinda guy. I love getting your opinions though, anything else you think it could be? Thanks for the dust too!

I always look for a little box like that under the tree. And everytime I see one, I automatically think its an engagement ring.....to which it never is. But that is just me. I''ll send you lots ''o'' engagment ring box under the Christmas tree dust!

Ooh, sounds promising! Here''s hoping it''s a shiny new e-ring! But even if it isn''t, I''ll bet it''s still sparkly.

Lol, I told SO years ago that it was not ''appropriate'' to give a girl a gift in a jewelry box, because she might think it is a proposal. So he is very clever and gives me jewelry stuck to the bottom of things, or hanging around the neck of a teddy bear, or this most recent anniversary, he THREW the box at me, which had diamond earrings!

I told him that throwing things at me wasn''t really necessary.

Maybe it is an empty box? I mean, if I was a guy proposing, I would give you a box with something simple in it, and while you were being thankful but disappointed, I would pull out the real box

Here''s to hoping for you!

Earrings and diamond necklaces come in the same size box as a ring. Don''t get your hopes up, or you might be crushed. Better to be surprised if it IS a ring, than to be disappointed if it''s not

We need to turn that highlighted phrase into a public service announcement!!!! Seriously waitinlady, not to make your anxiety heighten, but I honestly got butterflies when you described the box to me!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. If by chance it''s not an e-ring, I sure hope your BF will have learned his lesson! As for the little surprise in my stocking...it''s not a box. It''s flat, light and flimsy (I think) and wrapped in red tissue paper. It''s probably a gift certificate or something

Just be careful not to let your hopes get tooooo high! During our second Christmas together my FI gave me something in a jewelry size box AND got down on one knee. Turns out it was a beautiful necklace and he was just messing with me by getting down on one knee. Silly boy! I was so crushed I cried and cried. Now that I''ve got my e-ring I think it is a funny story but at the time it was not funny at all.

Sending dust your way!!!!

Ooo goodness I really hope that''s it for you! I couldn''t keep my hands off that particular gift if I were you

For what it''s worth, B got me pearl earrings from Blue Nile last month and they were in a jewelry box (like a ring box) which was then inside a hard cardboard box, maybe 4 inches by 4 inches in size? If you want, I can check exact dimensions when I get home, haha!

Good luck, DUST!!!!

Update! You''re like a mindreader trill. Before I read your post I was thinking ''if I were a guy how would I pull this off?'' And I thought of exactly what you said. Here''s where it gets interesting! I wore a pair of earrings the other day that I rarely wear but I put them on to satisfy my need for bling. I remember taking them off and putting them on my coffee table and now they''re gone! I searched everywhere this morning and I can''t find them. To make it even more suspicious, when I wore them SO joked that he could save some money by using the stones to make my ering. I know its a long shot but could he be using them as a decoy? Sorry to hear about your stocking sammy, did you peek lol? I''m trying so hard not to, I gotta stay strong but the suspense is killing me.

hmmm....i can''t wait to find out what''s in that box! I''m a shaker so I pick up every one of my gifts and I shake them. I can never figure out what anything is but I do it anyway!!! waitinlady, i''ll be checking PS on xmas day to find out what it is! regardless of whether or not it''s an e-ring, i''m sure it''s something great!

i have NOT peeked or even gone near my stocking yet. i wreck every one of my BF''s surprises (because he''s a terrible liar and has no poker face), so i''m trying to be very good....for now.

It would be nice if it is what we all hope it is! **Dust**
