Does anyone know what it is? LED? I''ve never seen diamonds look anything like they look in their jewelry display!

At my Costco it is a combo of those halogen bulbs in those 2" reflectors above the case and strips containing LEDs inside and at the top of the case.

Thanks Kenny. It must be the LED lights that make such a huge difference. I''ve seen halogens before of course, and while they make diamonds look great, they''ve never looked like the do under the LEDs. I''ve got to get some for home lighting. ;)

They are very tricky.

Personally, I think it is a combo of the bright, direct lighting, white background and natural darkness of the building with no other light sources.

I just did the same comparison with Tiffany in one of my threads.

Honestly the BEST bling lighting I have ever seen is at a 99 cent store.

It has a high ceiling with rows of exposed fluorescent tubes that are about 7 feet apart and run continuously from one end of the building to the other.

It makes my asscher give of zillions of vivid bars of every color.

yep, same here.

King Soopers'' checkout lines are pretty good too. But I wonder about the wisdom of Costco adding the LED lighting......if an item is purchased, sooner or later it''s going to have to come out of the display case, and while it will still look really good, with the other lighting, it''s sure not going to look like it did in the case!

I think costco doesn''t display their real diamonds and that those are CZ''s in the case under that lighting.
