cost for laser inscription

Hello,
How much extra should I pay for getting a pair of earrings laser inscribed by AGS? The current certs are AGS and not laser inscribed. Does this mean AGS will have to re-certify again to create a new cert with the laser # or they can slap on the laser # on the original cert but create new version of it.

The least expensive way may be to send the stones to someone like Dave Atlas who provides this service.

The inscription machine at AGS is DOWN for the moment and as we understand it, the machine requires a new core, so it's not going to be up any time soon. However the cost of inscription at the AGS on a dealer level is quite reasonable, we don't feel that it should be quoted here because frankly that is proprietary information that should not be made public. However we will say that it is "extremely reasonable" and that per stone, well, we spend more on lunch on any given day. The AGS requires that a new diamond grading report be issued for each stone - lunch for two.

We welcome the opportunity to laser inscribe diamonds near the price of a nice lunch. Right now, our machine is working fine. Prices for inscription are on the gemappraisers.com website. We require original certs accompany the diamonds before we inscribe certificate numbers on them and we follow these numbers with "AGA" so anyone knows who did the inscription. We don't want phoney inscriptions floating around any more than you do.

Dealer prices may be accessed with an available username and password. Qualified trade firms may request this information.
