I need to buy soon (tomorrowish), so I''ve given up on settings and am getting a temp. I''m trying to pick a center stone, but I''m not entirely sure what I''m looking for in the idealscope images. I know that white is bad and its a good way to look for lack of symmetry. Of these four hearts and arrows diamonds, do any of the idealscope views stand out as being the best or worst? The first one should show up in this post, then I''ll post the rest.

You guys have been a big help so far, I appreciate all the advice.

It looks to me like the last one is the best, with the second one being runner up. I''m no expert though. Is this a case where they all look like good performers and there would be negligible difference. They are all H color, similar size. Clarity ranges from VS1 to SI1. All score well on the HCA.

Thanks!

The first one is an example of how the ideal-scope icks out dogs.
This stone may have a good HCA score - but it has gouged or dug out upper girdle facets which cause the outer facets to have partial leakage.
This is being discused on some other threads at present.

The 2nd has painted girdles and is like an 8* style of cutting.
The third has steeper crown angle and will look great because of the little additional leakage areas. Some prefer 2 and some prefer 3.
The foruth is very slightly off symmetry - but like 2 aand 3 - it is fantastic.

So without seeing them and working out your own preference - 2,3 or 4 will make you very very happy.

Do you have the inclusion plots of #2 and #3 ?

Thanks Gary!

Ana- Here is a map of inclusions for the second diamond....
