Comments on this ring setting...

My girlfriend is SET on this setting... I''m not so sure. It will be platinum, but will it hinder the view of the diamond in any way, shape, or form.

I plan on putting an 1.25ct, AGS 000 diamond in it... thoughts?

I think it''s beautiful! If your GF is set, why don''t you want her to have it? She''s the one who''s going to be wearing it. If it''s in the budget, then I don''t think you should try to get her to compromise the style of the ring. As far as the style, you could see more of the stone with more open side views, however, this ring is very pretty having some interest in the gallery. A 1.25 RB is still going to be a knockout! You may want to look at a few wedding bands, too. With the intricate detailing on the shank, she''ll need to decide what she likes next to it.

I think that''s a beautiful setting, but who cares? SHE loves it, and she''s going to be wearing it!

Seriously though, that setting doesn''t hinder anything. The six prongs will make the diamond look more round (4 prongs can sometimes square of the stone), and you don''t get much sparkle from the side view anyway, so I wouldn''t worry about that. I think it''s a winner!

I think that, because of the sides of the setting... I may drop my color down to ''I''. That will save me quite a bit of money from the ''G'' color I was planning on. I mean really, I''d have to look hard between the hearts in the gallery to see the side of the stone, much less tell its color. We''ve looked at ''I'' compared to ''G'' colored stones before and neither one of us seemed to notice much of a difference, she didn''t see any difference!!!!!

I think njc''s Tacori looks like that and I believe her stone is under 1 ct. I think it is a beautiful setting. She does deserve it!

i love everything about this setting, but wish that the prongs were smaller, otherwise very unique and delicate. love it!!!!!
