Count me in on that one!
Can diamonds have ruby inclusions?
I wasnt aware they were found in the same places.
Garnet Iv heard of.

To answer the orginal question in general a white or clear inclusion is better but size and location is everything with inclusions.
A vvs black inclusion isnt going to be visible a white i2 inclusion is.

I prefer small black inclusions over small white inclusions in diamonds. White inclusions whether they be crytals or feathers tend to much more light making them more easily visible than black inclusions that blend in with the contrast of the stone.

White clusters of pinoints, if not highly concentrated, are usually faint and less visible.

I really believe the whole ''black is bad'' thing is a mental stigma. Perhaps it is because black incusions are more common than white inclusions but this stigma certainly shouldn''t be based on visibility factors, in my opinion.

When it comes down to it, if the diamond is eye-clean (VVS2, VS2, SI1 or SI2), what does it really matter?

Second that.

Invisible inclusions of any kind are better than the glaring ones...

... unless there's some cool inclusion involved, like Garry says. Included crystals are pretty cool

Now, wait a second, Garry. I know of garnet, diopside and zircon found as inclusions in diamond; but ruby ? How come ?

I had an SI-1 where there were three types of inclusions that I could see. There was a couple of clouds (dark), a dark crystal, and a clear crystal. I hated the dark ones, and found the clear crystal interesting. In fact, I hated the dark ones so much that I traded it in.

If the inclusions were white, I''m pretty sure they would have bothered me as much.

I looked at a VS1 once, which had a pinpoint in a position that reflected it in every facet....looked like LOTS of pinpoints!!! Didn''t care for that!!! I just don''t want them to show......or weaken the stone....
