Hello all,
I'm hoping I am doing this right, this is my first post ever, so I'm sorry if I do this wrong. My boyfriend and I are not engaged yet, but have recently started looking at engagement rings. I have been looking on pricescope for ideas and am blown away by all of the gorgeous rings everyone has. I love James Meyer's rings and have sent an email to him about the possibility of a ring made by him. I understand that he only uses his own stones, so if I go with him, it will probably be either an OEC diamond or I also inquired with him about a colored sapphire for the center stone. I love the lighter peachy pink and paraparadscha colors, but have had a hard time finding those online besides on etsy. I also love the light aquamarine montana sapphires, and even some lavender colors as well. My question is, does anyone know of a reputable seller of loose sapphires in the San Francisco bay area where I might be able to look at some of these colors in person? (If Mr. Meyer doesn't work out). I will be going to the Gift Center/Jewelry Mart in a few weeks, if anyone knows anyone there to talk to, I've never been, and have heard it can be overwhelming. I really appreciate any advice you care to share. Thank you!

welcome, and congrats on a pending CS e-ring!

Union Street Goldsmith has a lot of color stone eye candy. not sure how many loose stones they have but it is worth looking in their shop: http://unionstreetgoldsmith.com/

there is a building on Market Street that has a bunch of color stone related professional types but I forget the name of it. perhaps someone else will chime in.

be careful: most diamond vendors don't know much about color stones.....and I don't think that will be any different in the Gift Center.

again, welcome to Pricescope and the wonderful world of color stones!

Lang antiques in Union Square has lots of gemstone rings. Not sure if they have any loose gems though. I love looking at their selection online. One day I'll get a lovely art deco ring from them! http://www.langantiques.com/products/category/gemstone-rings

Joe escobar diamonds in Campbell does carry loose gems and they will source them for you as well. I'm getting my engagement ring from them. They are amazing! http://www.joeescobardimomds.com

When I was looking at rings we hit up brilliant earth in sf. Their son selection wasn't great for blue sapphires and I didn't care much for their show room. French jewelry in the gift center had a decent selection of sapphires but I found their pricing pretty high.

Thank you, I have definitely been wanting to check out Lang's!
