cold feet on this one, need opinions

Hi! I''m a big time newbie, and have spent the last couple of days lurking. I''ve been looking at this ring online for the last few months, and have been unable to see it in person as it is a "custom design."

I want it in 18K yellow gold (I''m not white, and I can really work yellow gold), and I have a couple of options for the center diamond, which is emerald cut.

I can get the emerald diamond in VS1 (I), or in VS2 (H), or for a couple hundred more could get VS1 (H). What do you guys think? Will it really matter colorwise because I will be using yellow gold?

What do you think about the ring in general? I''m a complete novice, and won''t be able to see the ring in person before I buy!

My only concern about the design is that in most cases yellow gold rings are still paired with plat prongs, so you have white against the white diamonds. I think it''s very important that you ask them to show you what a yellow gold ring would look like from not only the top but from the side, so you know you''re happy with the way it would look.
