Classic four prongs basket or halo for 0.90 ct each earrings

Ladies,

Do you prefer 0.90 ct diamond in simple four prongs basket type of earring setting or the halo setting? The four prongs basket is $180 where as the halo setting is $575. I really don't care about the difference in cost. Just wonder if the stones looks better in the simple settings or the "bigger" look of the halo setting is preferred. Thank you for your opinions.

This is of my 70 years old mother who is unsure of what she wants.

Personally I like the plain prong look but as your Mother is unsure, you could buy her some earring jackets another time, then she can change the look as she wants.

I agree! .90 in prongs will be large - in halos they would be huge! At least the jackets would give her flexibility if she didn't want the really large look all the time.

Edit - $575 sounds really cheap for a halo setting. Are you sure they are nice quality?

I greatly prefer the four prong settings for stones that large. A halo makes them look dressy whereas plain studs can be worn with sweats to evening wear.

screwback is a hassle to wear and take off
