A few newly obtained stuff.
Chrysoberyl ring was actually a copy of a PSer's ring. Mine was in 18k two tone gold. Yellow head and white shank.

Trillion chrysoberyl was from Tan, 2.65ct. Attaching video shot because I'm never able to capture this stone, it is just too brilliant and bright. Giving my camera a hard time....

This is an interesting stone, a few people actually thought it's an emerald

a red spinel

Well, I have no idea at all how to set it...

4.5ct pink spinel

This stone has a few bubbles, that are not distracting to me. Cutting is really really good

A 1.5ct unheated pink sapphire

A little silky, has a glow when sunlight hits it.

A 1.5ct unheated violet sapphire

2 blue spinels, small round originally from Gemrite. ~1.3ct
larger cushion is a 3ct more of a violet color. Both shifts to more purple under incandescent light

I'd set that in a pendent so fast!

Looking good!

Pendant? hmmm, I don't wear necklace because whenever I do I keep scratching my neck... ;(
So all my stones will be in rings. I do wear earrings, unfortunately I don't think I can ever find a matching pair. ;(

Wow, what a coincidence.
This stone is really well cut. Every once in a while Tan offers a good cutting stone that makes me think he had them specially cut somewhere else...

Thank you all for the sweet comment!Gotta go to work....

OMG. That spinel is a pendeloque cut. I cut that shape myself and have only seen it in diagrams (it's a pear step cut, not particularly common).

I cut one years ago in green modavite. Here it is for comparison:

I would think a pendant or a pendant drop would be the best way to set it. That's how I plan on setting mine.

OTL - thanks for sharing pics of your beautiful gems.

Briolette - how interesting! Didn't know about it before.

Very pretty collection! I like the circles on the underside of the bevel set chryso. :appl:

Great collection OTL - you certainly found some winners! With so many beautiful stones, e.g. all of the,...where to start...I really like the tourmaline - such a deep color without going dark; the pink portuguese cut spinel is tdf; and that violet sapphire jumps off my screen :-)

That pink sapphire is going to haunt my dreams, it is amazing amazing amazing!!!

Wow great collection! Love them all, especially the interesting pear shape spinel. I'd set it with chunky step-cut diamond traps!

Very pretty stones, OTL. The cutting not only looks great on your (huge!) pink spinel, but also on both chrysoberyls. You have been a very busy woman!

It's indeed a rare shape. Your green modavite is gorgeous! Nice color!
I agree pendant would be the best way to set it, it's just I don't wear necklace, that's a problem

Yes that pink spinel does look huge on my fingers, you remember what it looks like for that 3ct spess garnet, imagine this 4.5ct spinel ;( I have such a hard time accepting it as a ring

Thanks so much for the nice compliment summer. I kept these, meaning I returned more :(sad
Buying stones is like gambling. I returned a couple afghan tourmalines until I found this one.
That violet sapphire has been in my watching list for ever as well, I couldn't pull the trigger because it is quite small
but I keep coming back for it. So I made the move. I was satisified. :D
