OK this is a huge stone. It is windowed but still nice. Tell me what you think. I can not catch good light for it, and it can not "lie" straight in my fingers...

This one shows the window very well... It is large but narrow and I think it will close in a setting... What do you think?

Thank you for viewing!

oooooooh pretty! I think the window isn't that bad and with careful setting will almost vanish.

Nice stone :appl:

Crasru,
It is very nice. Do you have the original vendor photo? I think the window would close up in a setting easily.

Crasru, the last 2 pics really show the color. The window isn't that bad -- setting should do wonders. Any ideas on style you want to use?

Its a lovely color. Window should shut well in the right setting.

Pretty color Crasru! What will you do with it?

Crasru,
What you’ve shown appears to be a tilt window because the stone is photographed at an angle. Do you still see through the stone when it is level or perfectly straight on? If it is windowed, it is very small and will “close up” once set. It looks to be quite lovely. Is it greenish yellow? Does it shift colours?

LOVE the color shift!!

I do have the original photo and it does not show any window. It is different from this photo. What also bothers me is that Tan told me it had absolutely no window. I shall post the link. I wonder if the packaging guys just put another stone instead by mistake. Does anyone know if Tan is available now?

The cut on the photograph appears similar, though.

It looks like it has a little fishbowl window. It will definitely close up in a setting. I don't think they switched the stone on you. Did you weigh it?

How accurate are your photos for color?

It appears to be a bright stone. Does it "WOW" you, or are you just, "um. . . okay" with it?

Hi,

I like your stone. Its nice and sparkly, as its supposed to be. You did not say how large it was.

My only experience with Tan consisted of asking him to check to see if the two stones I was considering had a window. He said he checked and no they had none. Each stone had a window(not tilt) and not that small. It was very disappointing and I sent them back.
I know others have had good experience with him, but mine not so.

Thanks,

Annette

What does a dealer in Thailand have to lose by just sending you the stone, You pay the shipping and handling both ways.

I see that Tan is charging 50.00 for a Git memo now. It was 20.00, then 30.00 and now 50.00. I think he's being inundated with Lab requests. I wonder who those people are?

Absolutely. However, if you look at some of the other photos you can see a slight window (rather than tilt window). Totally agree that it should close up once set.

It is a window, but it is a long, narrow sliver. It doesn't bother me per se, I just want to form opinion about the color. If I decide to keep it, a simple gold mount would be fine since the stone is large and I have no doubt that a closed mounting will close the window. I have no spoon on me and, more important, the stone will not stay in the spoon because of its cut. Maybe I shall try foil later.

Can't say it is an incredible color-shifter, definitely nothing comparable to Chrono's but it is a very bright stone. I can not photograph it at daytime because of my work situation but I shall try tomorrow, weather permitting. I think I shall keep it. 5.8 + ct. and it is very bright.

I looked at Uppy's photos, mine comes from the same material. Uppy is just a better photographer. I shall try AM photos tomorrow.

Crasru,
If you can point out the pictures showing the most accurate colour for indoors and outdoors, I will be able to answer your question about colour quality better on your chrysoberyl.
