Anyone else watch? The family looked lovely, but I think the girls' dresses were too short. I know it's hard to dress a long legged 12 year old in age appropriate clothing, and I do think their daughters looked gorgeous and age-appropriate (a little lip gloss and not too grown up), but with a mother in a formal full length gown, I thought the girls were showing too much leg for the occasion and time of year, especially without tights.
I certainly don't think it's a big deal, just noticed it and thought I'd see what others thought. Or see what people thought of the show in general! The hall looked amazing!

I don't understand what Michelle is trying to say with herself and the girls and bare arms. Young girls don't need strappy cocktail dresses. No one else in the photos seem to think bare arms in December is necessary, why does she?

So the dress, especially for the youngest, does not seem age appropriate. Tights and sleeves would have been more fitting.

I didn't notice the spaghetti straps on the younger daughter but I just looked at a photo and totally agree. While I don't think the dresses are too old for the girls in terms of "sexiness," I definitely agree that they should have sleeves. While I have no problem with a little girl wearing a strappy or sleeveless shirt to play in or short shorts/skirts for everyday, a little girl's formal dress should definitely have sleeves, and the girls should either be wearing tights or dresses that come to their knees. (especially the president's daughter sitting on the front row at a formal event aired on national TV)

oh, and that reminds me - Michelle should have taught her girls to sit with the knees together and their ankles crossed... NOT have their legs crossed in short skirts.

By the way, I hope this doesn't come across as me picking on the girls because I totally think of this as a commentary on Michelle's choices, not theirs, and just wanted to discuss what people thought of dressing girls in general.

Please, I just ate. I'd rather not waste a whole dinner by vomiting it up.
