Picked up my Christmas present from Mr. Snail this morning! We had DK set my original engagement diamond in a bezel necklace, so I could still wear it every day.
Background:
This was my original engagement ring – link.
Very pretty, but I'd worn it daily for >5 years, so that plus its previous lifetime(s) meant it was wearing thin in the shank. There's also traces of gorgeous milgrain that I was worried might get worn away completely, since I'd like to have DK restore the setting & set a CS in it someday. I got a whole new upgrade ring (that I'll get around to posting one day, I promise!), but I loved my first diamond and wanted to keep wearing it somehow.
Details:
0.35ct OEC, G-color, SI2
14k white gold with yellow gold accent (the G)
18" chain with a sizer at 16"
tulip-esque sides to match my upgrade e-ring
I worked with Amy @ DK, she was an absolute pleasure! This was my first project with DK, and I hope the first of many. We just recently moved to the LA area and so I was able to drop my ring off and pick the necklace up in person. I emailed them on Nov 18, we ended up doing 4 CADs with slight tweaks each time. Greenlit the design on Nov 28, ready yesterday! Went with Mr. Snail to get it first thing this morning
I'm so happy with it. It's the perfect delicate everyday necklace, and it makes me feel so elegant and adult!
