Hello all,

I haven't been around here in awhile. I got divorced so my fingers have been bare for three years. Today my boyfriend told me it's time to choose a ring (I told him very early on in our relationship that while I love all gifts and am a very easy going person, him choosing jewelry for me would be a mistake).

Anyway, about the ring. I want an lgd. The rings I wore during my previous marriage were all solitaires, so I've decided to go with a halo this time. To make life complicated, I also really want an elongated radiant. I was looking at Ritani, because I've always loved their settings. This one is my favorite: https://www.ritani.com/products/cla...-vs1-clarity-igi-lg583331917-sku-d-4o1qzp1gel

I'm nervous about selecting the stone though. I'd like to keep the total under 5k. And I don't want anything much larger than 9x6.5 (basically between 2-2.2 carat). E or F. The stone I selected based on the current inventory is this one https://www.ritani.com/products/2-1...-vs1-clarity-igi-lg583331917-sku-d-4o1qzp1gel

But I don't know. What red flags should I be looking for? I don't see any brown tinge or cloudiness, but can I trust this video?

I'm not looking for perfect, I just want a stone that really shows its facets. I love the way crushed ice cuts sparkle.

I feel like this would be so much easier if I were into round stones. What do you think? Should I tell him to pull the trigger?
