Hi everyone,

After weeks of research, I'm on the home stretch and would really love your expert advice to take me to the end.
I'm trying to choose between the following diamonds. Unfortunately, I only have their GIA reports, no ASET/idealscope images. The HCA value is <2 for all diamonds listed below.

Number 1 (reserved 48h): http://www.since1910.com/loose-diamonds/stone/17237843.aspx#GIA
1.41, H, VS1, round, excellent x3

Number 2 (reserved 48h): http://www.bluenile.ca/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-vs2-clarity_LD02171960
1.35, G, VS2, round, excellent x3

Number 3: http://www.bluenile.ca/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-vs1-clarity_LD02440194
1.38, H, VS1, round, excellent x3

Number 4: http://www.bluenile.ca/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-vs1-clarity_LD02385153
1.40, H, VS1, round, excellent x3

To provide more info re: my needs:

I plan to use a Victor Canera setting, likely similar to the following. There is a video provided if you're interested. (http://www.victorcanera.com/jewelry/engagement-rings/the-gabriella-four-prong-solitaire-with-single-cuts.html)

Number 1 is my favourite, but it blows over my budget of ~12k. But it ships faster than Number 2, which is important to me.
Number 2 seems good all-round.
Number 4 is interesting, but the strong fluorescence I'm undecided on, as the setting will have pave diamonds along the shoulder.

Thank you so much! It'll be nice to get this step of the process complete...

not an expert, but looking in the same range. I vote number 1 just based on this info, but think you need images to make sure you're going over your budget wisely.

good luck! :)

Before making a decision, I would search on www.usacerteddiamonds.com (They probably have this same diamond for cheaper)

Here is a nice H "Hearts and Arrows" (inscribed) AGS Ideal/Ideal/Ideal 1.5c SI1 In your budget

Of the 4 that you posted I like the 2nd one. The first two are H & A's which I like but the first one has a larger table 60% and shallow crown 13.0; but faces up larger which is nice but will look flatter.

I think the smaller tables with higher crowns make prettier diamonds. Thus the 1.5c H SI1 AGS stone has all three of those factors plus it faces up larger. It also shows the ASET on the grading report. These well faceted round brilliants hide inclusions well, so my guess is that the AGS 1.5 SI1 will hopefully be eye-clean. For less money you have a higher crown 15.4% and a smaller table 57% and 7.3mm stone.

Go to GOG and watch the videos on what makes a nice RB well cut diamond. Also check out the measurements of their superior cut RB stones. Also if you watch the video's on clarity most SI1's are eye-clean.

Good luck on your search!

Here is a great H VS2 on GOG: It passes all the performance tests with flying colors...no guessing on this stone!
