Cellulitis of the Eye

We're one week from the wedding and FI has come down with optical/orbital cellulitis. He was in the ER last night, got a CAT scan and went through a dose of IV anti-biotics. If the steriods and new anti-b's don't work, we've apparently got bigger problems.

Does anyone know anything about cellulitis, how it should be treated, etc? Has anyone have to be hospitalized for this?

poor guy, peri-orbital cellulitis is not fun.

he's on the right treatment, here's wishing him a speedy recovery. hopefully in time for the wedding. sorry this happened to him at this time!

I'm so sorry this is happening. This happened to my dad last yr and it was pretty bad. The meds didn't work so they had to hospitalize him to give him the meds..he was there for about a week.

I hope this doesn't become your reality...My dad said it was painful..I really feel for your fiance. Hopefully he will have a better response to the meds than my dad did (who is older and has medical issues).
