Found a 1.01 G VS1 Diamond H&A for around $7,300

Measures 1.1 on Holloway Cut Adviser

Exact Measurements from Sarin Report are
Depth 60.9
Table 55.6
Crown 34.4
Pavilion 40.8
Culet 0.4

Brilliance Scope looks good. All appears perfect, except for the Cavity......should i be concerned?

And what about mounting? Behind Prong or not.

All advice appreciated. You guys are very helpful on this site.

Thanks,
Paul

I added a pic of the cavity if you were interested in seeing it.

Nice pic - does not look like a cause for concern to me.

The magnification there is huge.

If you want an identifying feature - leave it just next to but out from under a prong and you will be able to check it is your stone with your finger nail.

Or for safety and security, pop it under the prong.

I wouldn't be worried about it. Think of it this way: If that wasn't there, this would be a VVS stone, with a VVS price. As a VS1, it's going to have something in it. What could be better than a minor surface feature that will fit under a prong?

How did you take the picture? It's very nicely done.

Thanks guys very your help. I didn't take the pic it was supplied on the vendors website. GoodOldGold.com Do you all have any opinions either way of this vendor?

Also, do you know of any appraisers in the Illinois/Iowa area. I live close to the Quad Cities (Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, and Davenport)
Thanks again,
Paul

Excellent vendor, one of the best IMHO

A VS1 cavity is going to be a very minor characteristic, which should have no adverse effect on the durability of the stone.
