Cartier vs. Bvlgari

Hi

I am deciding on a ring for my gf. I know I am part of a minority that is going for a brand name diamond, but I know my GF will love a Cartier or a Bvlgari.

I know both are considered top of the game. But if one had to choose between these two, would anyone consider one of the brands to be better than the other?

Thanks!

I would not buy from a company that uses a V instead of a U.

It's just annoying.

They made beautiful rings, but with different style.
You should see them live and ask your girlfriend what she prefer

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That is just too funny!

As far as which company? Completely up to your (and her) tastes and which you perceive to be held as a larger status symbol, if that is what you are looking for.
I opted to not consult my GF (now fiance) throughout the process. Some people will claim you should. It''s really up to you if you think you can get something she likes without consulting her.

Both are lovely. How about throwing Harry Winston into the mix ... yummy!

Hi kumavi,

I guess it depends on what's important to her. Both are well known brands, though Cartier's more known for engagement jewelry. If it's purely a status and brand issue, I'd say go with Cartier-- esp. if she is more traditional.

If you just want to get blingy and she is into sleek or modern designs, I'd say go with Bvlgari. If she doesn't want to be lumped in with the traditional Cartier/Tiffany set, then go with Bvlgari.

If you're uncertain, I'd say go with Cartier!

But this discussion isn't worth much without looking into individual ring designs.

I would probably go with Cartier because it is well known for bridal jewelry, but it is same old same old. Have you thought about Van Cleef?

LOL.

I would go with Cartier. I was recently at the Bulgari in Vegas, and it is not really my style. I really like Cartier''s classic solitaire. I also like some of their other ering designs.

Is there any reason you ruled out Tiffany''s? I have tried on many of their rings and they are all beautiful. I think they have more styles than Cartier.
