Just posting because I’ve seen the name floating around on our board.
Look who is taking pics from our own PS members (Dandi in this case). Buyer beware.

That's too bad that they're lifting pics. I had seriously considered ordering from their Etsy store, but if they're stealing pics, I won't regardless of price .

Will ebay and etsy remove listings / sellers if evidence is presented of picture theft?

I’ve been looking for diamond cluster rings..but also was considering moissanite because I didn’t want to blow a huge chunk of my budget on one ring. I went to eBay and saw a supposedly moissanite cluster ring that I was looking at that are really diamonds stole from a different listing...I’m pretty positive it’s the same picture so the seller stole it..not Carob Jewels in this instance but saw so many diamond ones that trying to find it would be hard..but if I run across it again I will contact that person showing it as a moissanite...

I report the listings when i see stolen photos but not sure if anything happens.

@chunkyfacetlover I don’t know if you saw this..
A couple months ago, I purchased a ring from an Indian seller, tanyajewelry, on ebay. The ring was supposed to be a an 8mm oec moissanite in an antique setting. We emailed back and forth and she told be it was indeed her design and that an OEC moissanite would be used. I was very clear about what I wanted and she assured me my ring would be exactly as pictured.

I was browsing Etsy for Christmas gifts when I stumbled on the same pic the seller used on Ebay. My heart sank when I saw it was a $3000 ring by a favorite PS vendor. I should have known it was too good to be true but went ahead because it wasn't so cheap that it couldn't be possible, especially with moissanite melee and 14k gold.

I immediately contacted Ebay and they told me to wait for the ring to come in. The ring did finally arrive, 3 weeks later which was a joke because no where on the store did it say it was coming from India. I had no idea I was buying a cheap knockoff from India. I took pics of the ring, and attached screenshots of the original Etsy ring, our communication, etc. I also brought up that they were falsifying their location .

I never found out if Ebay closed the store or not. I left a scathing review and to my knowledge, it's still up with all the stolen oics. :angryfire::angryfire:

I've reported Carob Jewels twice, because two of their listings (totally different descriptions but the same pics) use my pictures. Not sure if anything will come of it, but at least we are aware. Thanks for taking the time to post @anangel .

No problem. I figure if nothing else, most anyone on this board will boycott any vendor blantantly stealing pictures

I posted about a similar situation with a vendor on ebay a few months ago. I don't know if the vendor was pulled or not because I can't find the info now, but I just HATE that people do this -- and get away with it!

You may want to post in hangout because that area gets more traffic. I'm all for anything we can do to stop people like this, including spreading the word as much as possible so people don't buy from them.

So I finally received my Carob OEC and of course, it's not cut like my C&C oec moissanite purchased 6 years ago. It's cut like a round brilliant with the typical large, flat table and no high crown. It was does, however, have some similar looking facets like my OEC but no flower pattern in the middle which is synonymous with the OEc and OMC cuts. I ask him about it and he tells me that only OMC is cut like that and those stones cost more. I tell him it's not about the cost. He should state clearly in the description that it's not a traditionally cut OEC, should probably include better pics and mention the table will be large with minimal crown.

I give neutral feedback and leave a review saying color is not IJ as stated closer to M color with large table and minimal crown. He contacts me and asks for me to change my feedback.

@chunkyfacetlover, so instead of taking away some constructive feedback that could better his business he expectsyou to change your review?! :snooty:
