care of stud earrings

Hi everyone-I know this has been discussed before but of course I can't find it...

How do you care for your stud earrings? I have the type with the butterfly back. Is it 'bad' to take them out every night-will the backs wear down? Is it better to just leave them in and clean once a week?

I'd say def take them out for cleaning as much as possible - can't exactly ever clean out too much ear-ick even if the posts do wear down it's a trivial job to solder on new ones

I take mine out every night. I usually clean them before putting them back on the next day. I use a baby toothbrush, dip it in the jar jewelry cleaner and gently scrub, rinse and dry.

OK - I wear mine 24/7 and prob take out and clean once or twice per week.
