So, some of you may know that I ordered the sholdt semi-bezel from Pearlmans for a stone I purchased through Whiteflash.

Well, my original concern with the setting was that it won''t sit well with my wedding band. (it''s about 6mm thick). The store that i was orignally going to purchase the setting from were aware of this and told me they contacted sholdt and were told it wouldn''t be a problem. So when I decided to go with Pearlman''s, i didn''t even think to ask again.

I got the e-ring. WOW, gorgeous, couldn''t be happier etc. BUT, it looks horrible with my wedding ring. Seriously bad. There''s no way I can wear the rings together. Even my husband who''s not sentimental at all is upset at this and understands i now need to get a new ring.
The Sholdt is very thin and I''ve worn it a few times with my knife-edge that I wear when we travel but it''s yellow gold and doesn''t look good either.

So here''s my question- was thinking maybe a pave band but I''d want it super thin with tiny stones. I looked over the weekend and haven''t seen anything that thin/small. Is it even possible to get something in pave about 1mm thin?

Here''s a pic so you get an idea.

I'll take a look and see what I can find.... But I have to tell you that that setting is one of my favorites!!! I have dreams about putting an oval red stone of some sort in it one day... Do you have more pics? Is there a thread? I have to see more!!!

Here's one... Thin band
do you want pave or could it be some thing like this ?

hiya Crooked-
No thread yet. Have only taken a few pics. Trying to get my hubby to take some outside (when we actually get some sun). Will probably do a thread over the weekend.

I was thinking of going the Leon route but really don''t want to wait that long. Pretty upset at this though since I''ve sworn over and over I''d never get another wedding band.

Something like the beverly K one but in platinum.

I think you met with Leon in NY if I''m not mistaken? Did you happen to see anything like the beverly K one in any stores? (i''m from ny that''s why i''m asking).

Hmmm 1mm thick would be the smallest band I''ve ever heard of. Ritani makes a 1.8 (or was that for the ering and the band was 2mm?). Someone on here has a 1.1mm pave ering...with an emerald. Can''t think of who it is! You could get a 2mm band pretty easily. Ritani is good in terms of quality. Good luck!

Yes, I did meet with Leon in NYC. We walked around the diamond district and looked at stuff but not at bands bc I am holding off on that for a while, and bc I already know I want Leon to make one for me.
Michael C Fina carries some.
Here''s one

I loooove that setting! And a thin pave band, or one either side, would look amazing!! Leon does them, check his site. I think he goes ans thin as 1.5mm.

hey Cutey-
First I want to say that I saw your thread and holy god, GORGEOUS RING. grats

I checked out the link and yes, that''s pretty much it. Wondering how thin it is (didnt read the whole thread). I also sent a request for a quote on Leon''s page saying what I was looking for.
I really didn''t want to go through Leon. Not because his work isn''t amazing, but the wait.. not good at waiting. Also, I was looking to spend less than I''m sure he''ll charge.

But I haven''t seen anyone else make them that thin so it doesn''t look like I have a choice.

SunnyD-
Am really hoping for under 2mm. If it''s not possible or if Leon''s price is outrageous, I may go with a Ritani.

Hey elle! Thanks! I''m enjoying the new set.

I think diamondnut''s band (and e-ring shank) are both 1.6 mm. So Leon definitely does a < 2.0 mm band. If you look on his site, he also has those marina bands (I think that''s what he calls them), where it''s 3 thin bands with small airlines in between to look like the bands are separate and floating when they''re actually just one ring. And on those, I believe he even goes as thin as 1.3 mm. Not sure how much his work is going to cost though...but I think, in all honesty, that his band will look better than the Ritani. I have the Ritani Endless Love and the way the stones are set, there is a fine line of metal surrounding the pave (does that make sense?).

Cutey- yeah, it makes sense. I''ve seen a few like that this weekend. but yeah, I''d rather have just a thin glimmer without much metal showing. Looking for very understated.

Not to play devil''s advocate here, but why not wear your e-ring on the right hand??
I am surprised that not many more people do it, because oftentimes the combination of the two rings does indeed look less than flattering and takes away from the beauty/originality of the individual rings. Then again, the love/pressure of tradition has lead people to do a lot of things in all sorts of life domains ... really too bad.

i have a band by leon that is 1.5 mm, eternity style done in pave. it is beautiful. it was in his rings available for sale section, so i didn''t have to wait. the cost was a little over $1k. i think that style (and width, it is super thin at 1.5 and offers a nice suggestion/compliment) would look beautiful with your new ring - which is gorgeous! i can''t wait to see more pictures of it!!

Purrfect Pear- thank you for the link. I've had a bad experience with ice.com though. Bought something once and the workmanship was just terrible. Am scared to go through them again.

ilovedogs- hmm, never heard of them but that looks pretty good. I bookmarked it if Leon doesn't work out.

rob09- I just don't like having rings on both hands. I feel like it's too much for me. I have a 5 stone ring that I had made for my left hand (right hand is a different size) that i plan to alternate just because i hate wearing too much jewelry. It's not about tradition at all :)

rainydaze- pics?

Hi Elle,

What sz ring do you wear? I am asking b/c if you want a GORGEOUS thin pave band, you can always go with this Daniel K one at Pearlmans:

http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-specials/closeout-jewelry/rings/225CO1/16/

I ordered one myself a couple of weeks ago, and its just the prettiest, daintiest little band and I love it! They have sizes 5.5-6.25 available, and the price is amazing!

Good luck!

Did we figure out how thin that band is? I''m still debating whether or not I should just buy one of these since they are SUCH a good price!!!

I ordered one and it was thinner than the Legacy band which is 2mm. I kept the Legacy band and returned the DK because the DK one I was sent did not have the fine milgrain which was what I wanted. You need to specify whether you want the milgrain or not, because apparently there is more than one style of thin band in spite of the pictures on the Pearlman''s site.

Elle, your ring is really beautiful! I would say that you need to go local first and try on some bands with that ring. Because it is a substantial setting, I think a tiny thin band might look overpowered by that e-ring. 2mm is actually quite thin for a pave ring. I really love the 2mm Legacy band in case you want to at least try one on with it.

Hey!

My guess is the DK band is about 1.5mm. Its definitely thinner than my Novo band, which I think is abot 1.8mm....

I think you should just order one for the heck of it....

Thanks DS...it''s nice to know that there are different versions. I think there may be different widths as well!

Very pretty ring. Good luck finding something you like with it.
