I have done a post on shipping stones from the US into Canada and there is great information summarized on there regarding duty / tax / different carrier's charges / etc.

Now I would like to do the reverse since it is time to ship my tsavorite to Whiteflash to have set.

What is the best carrier?
What is the best shipping 'package'? (warranty, insurance, etc.)
Do we need separate 3rd party insurance in case the stone gets lost?
Do we need to label it anything specific? (gift, repair, etc.)
Is there any information that must travel with the stone in case it is opened at the boarder?
What are the exact steps?
Am I being paranoid?...wait, don't answer.

Thank you all in advance.

Is WF able to advise you on any of your questions since I'd think they would have some experience with customers shipping packages to them from Canada? I'm sorry I have no clue about shipping from Canada but I know there are several Canadian posters on PS/

I'm in Canada and I shipped my stone to Whitefalash. Whiteflash gave me all the instructions I needed, to get my stone safely to them.

I will be getting instructions as the next step but wanted an "outsider's" opinion to be sure.
I'll trust WF - they've been great so far.
Thank you.

I remember reading something about custom's forms. I don't know the procedure but you have to declare the stone belongs to you, and it's from Canada or taxes have been paid, or something like that.... This is so you don't have to pay taxes for the stone upon it's return from the States. Hopefully, someone can help you with this.
