I love this setting and I contacted the vendor who claimed it is a custom made piece and would cost $4000 for the setting and the baguettes. This seemed VERY steep to me. I already have the center and side stones (2.13 ec, sides .7 ea ec). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
A good craftman/benchman can make that setting w/o the jewelery store markup. I think it would be more in line in the 2-3K range. Although, how big are the baguettes that need to be purchased? What are those specs?
I actually don't know what size these baguettes are. The side stones are .7 ea and the center was 3.0. Any guesses on what size these baguettes are? I know nothing about baguettes and will have to look for those I guess. (Unfortunately, it looks as though this isn't going to all come together by my 40th birthday at the end of October, but I guess I should be more patient.
)Does anyone know a good source for tapered baguettes?
P.S. The ring pictured was from 23rd Street Jewelers in CA. Someone else posted it previously and I just copied it.
Thanks!!! You have all been really helpful in this painfully long quest.
Regards, Detta
You should not worry about buying baguettes: this is the jeweler's task. Finding a good jeweler would help. Mine was jewelryexpert.com. They seem to make quite well much more complicated things than what I asked for.
