I have been engaged for about 10 months now. My fiance gave me exactly what I asked for and I love it, especially for what it stands for. Cathedral set, round CS with round channel set diamonds in the band. However, I never quite noticed the spaces in between the round stones in the band when we were looking. It has really started to bother me and I wanted to know if my band could easily be changed? I am so very sentimental and don''t want to change my ring at all, but I also want to LOVE my ring. Could my actual band be changed to pave or prong set, using the original diamonds and not changing the ring too much? Or would I need a whole new band? I don''t want to crush him, but it''s all I can focus on anymore. Plus, I can''t find a band I like to match it since I want a thinner band and the channel set diamonds don''t match up. Sorry for my ramble - any suggestions/experiences would be great!

Hi there!
The ring can''t actually be "changed" into a different style, but the diamonds can certainly be pulled out and reset into another style- shared prong of bead set. Do you diamonds graduate in size or are they all the same size? The re-set will most likely be more cost efficient if they don''t graduate. You sound a bit concerned about upseting you FI, but I think it can go over well, if you just explain to him the situation.-New point being that you can''t quite find a matching band. A worse situation might be sticking with the setting and spending more money on a band that you''re not happy with... At least you''re still early in the game, and the only lose at this point would the money spent on the metal portion of the e-ring.

If you really are sentimental about the whole ring, maybe stick a colored stone in the center and wear it as a right hand ring. Then get a whole new wedding set for your diamond.

Good luck!

This is a wonderful idea and it is what I plan to do when I upgrade.
