If you've been following my other thread, then you know that I am looking to reset a very light yellow OMC diamond. I have this setting lying around, and I am contemplating swapping the stone, but I have this fear that it may look too much like an E-ring. I am hopeful that it will not because the prongs will be yellow, thereby making my stone looking yellow rather than the typical ering diamond.

I think if the stone is colored, it can work better than with a colorless or near colorless diamond. In the last year or so, I bought a new platinum setting that is also basically a solitaire with diamonds on the shank, and I plan to put a colored stone in it and wear it for a RHR. You might want to see if they could gold plate the metal that will be under the stone to help increase the yellow.

I tend to think that with a diamond (even one that is very light yellow), that setting looks very much like an e-ring. Having said that, its still very pretty and if you want to wear it as a RHR, then go for it - I'm sure it would look lovely:)

I voted 'yes' because the width and look of the shank make it look like it could pass as a RHR. To me anyway, I find the wider shank gives a ring more of a RHR vibe than a smaller width shank.

Ditto...I think it could go either way. I would give it a try!
