are you questioning something or just wanting an overall feel? i think the numbers look great, the IS image looks exceptional as well in my opinion.

one comment, are you sure about the J...i only ask because that may show a tinge of color, if the stone doesn't have fluor, and sometimes people may not consider that. make sure you have seen other well-cut J stones in person as well for comparison.

if you are fine with the J..then i say go for it!

hello mara--

thanks for responding--by the way your one of my "favorites" on this site.... and i love your stone and setting

as far as the j color-- i viewed a preset 2.07 j si1 EGL certified stone-- it looked fine face up but i did notice the yellow color when i tilted the setting and placed it against white paper-- i also was not impressed with the EGL certification as i think their color grading may be "off" compared to AGS..
i don''t think the warmth of j will bother me and i plan to mount in yellow gold--
i wasn''t sure about the idealscope image-- i realize white is leakage and thought it may be too much around the girdle compared to others i''d seen....

thanks--

I agree with mara.
looks good

I agree with Mara that the J colour could be a buit of a worry. Have you seen the stone? Some J colours can face up really white. As for mounting it in yellow gold I think that may also make the stone look a little more yellow than it actually is. Can you have a white gold or plat head and a yellow gold setting?

thats a beautiful IS image, the white along the edge is a (must have) for better contrast.

thanks LC.

EG, Mounting in yellow gold will probably accept more of the color of the stone and possibly make it appear whiter, while a white setting can show color more clearly.

A well-cut J will appear whiter than a regular random maul J stone, so if you have seen something like that in the past and noticed a tinge...this one should appear with less color...however you will probably see a slight tinge from the side or when compared against a white paper etc. However, that's not 'regular' viewing!

The IS image is a good one, the white along the edges is typical of a well-cut non-girdle-tweaked stone...so nothing stands out with a red flag IMO!

I have a 1.5 round "J" color, and it''s absolutely gorgeous and WHITE. It''s set in yellow gold with white gold prongs, and none of us can find any "color" in it regardless of whether it''s being viewed under a loupe or whether it was in the folds of white paper while still loose. I think it was harshly graded by the GIA and am VERY happy with it. Go with your gut. If it makes you happy - it''s the right choice.
