Has been in the same family for a long time and they think it's Georgian. I wanted something amethyst for my oldest son's birthstone - he's born on February. The orchid is sooo fragrant and I'm so proud of myself for making it bloom :cool2:

I don't know much about Georgian era jewellery but I don't get the feeling like it is.

To me the detailing is too perfect for Georgian era. I think it's closer to Victorian era.

Same feelings. IMG_6422.jpeg
The parts circled seem too alike to every each other in their slight off symmetry in the design, than what I’d take for Georgian era piece.

Pretty piece and the orchid too!

It's beautiful!
The Georgian period was 1714-1837. Based on the clasp, I don't think it is that old. The clasp can tell us a lot about the age of a piece.
The 14k mark wasn't used back then, either.
I'd say late Victorian, early Edwardian.
Pretty orchid!

Early 20th century, made by Krementz, one of the excellent jewelry manufacturers of Newark, New Jersey:

@glitterata you are SO GOOD, thank you! I heard of them, I've been drooling over their art nouveau pieces for a while ;)

The company had a long run making all sorts of jewelry during Newark's heyday as the center of jewelry manufacturing in America. Their art nouveau enamel work is so beautiful and delicate. Their logo/mark is a shirt stud because they produced so many of those.
