The more I look at wedding gowns, the more I notice none of them have any sleeves!!!

I would love to find a dress with long sleeves, preferably sheer sleeves (lace or chiffon embellished with appliques). The wedding is going to be in October, and I''m not a 20-something-year old who likes to show off her upper arms. I''d rather feel covered, thank you. No strapless for me! So where can I find gowns with sleeves? I''d love to find something with a 70''s flavor to it (but still with a train). I don''t want to spend a fortune on a gown with so much else to worry about.

If you google "wedding gown with sleeves", and go to "Images"... there are tons.

ETA: You aren't going to find many bridal salons with much of a selection though. I would imagine your best bet is going to be online. Have you thought about wearing a sheer bolero with appliques on it?

Here something simple with sleeves... and not the 80''s poof.

This is one of my favourite dresses shortlisted if I have a white wedding. (I''m looking for more alternative styling...maybe red and black)

It is by Sincerity Brides and has 3/4 lace sleeves. I love it.

This is also by Sincerity.

Optional lace sleeved bolero.

Of course, you could always purchase a sleeveless gown and buy a separate bolero/jacket to wear over the top to change the look and add those desired sleeves.

Many lines carry what they call "temple ready" gowns. Try googling for that, they will always have sleeves and more coverage.

OMG that first Casablanca is almost perfect for me! I''m 5''9", wear about a 12-14 in bridal sizes, and have good waist definition. I would like that dress with a v''d waist instead of the detail going straight across. Keep ''em coming, you ladies are getting close to perfect with those choices!

Would really rather not have detachable (bolero, etc.), but in a pinch would work I guess.

Some wedding dress designers have sleeve or bolero/shrug options you can put on any dress. David''s Bridal has various types of sleeves. Alfred Angelo makes some satin and lace boleros. I agree that too many dresses are strapless these days - it''s hard to find nice dresses with straps, let alone sleeves!

Gwen has posted a gorgeous sleeved dress, lemme see if I can find it...

Here's a whole thread dedicated to her long sleeved search!

I wish they still made simple gowns like AGBF''s. That would be exactly what I''m trying to find. Flattering neckline, shows some curves, but still covered up and elegant. They just don''t make ''em like they used to!

This really is elegant, and I just may look for it in a store. It''s got a train but not much of one, sleeves, curves, etc., very feminine and pretty without looking too young. I''m 39, so really not sure what a 40-year-old bride with 4 kids should wear!

Anything she wants!

I have been wondering the SAME EXACT thing. I don''t want to show my arms, and because of a few BIG OLD scars I have, I would want sleeves to my wrist. But most of them (except the ones shown) are a lil.. old looking.. and frumpy.
