This is the EXACT design I'm looking for as the engagement ring setting but obviously, that ring is poor quality so I'm looking for the same design but 14k white gold or platinum, preferably 4 prong.

I found one similar here http://www.diamondengagementringsforyou.com/jewelry/Antique_Diamond_Split_Shank_Engagement_Ring_Semi_Mount-1073-5.html but it's not quite the same. I think the band and stones are too big. I want the side stones and the band to have a small/thin and clean look so the center stone can stand out. I hope this makes sense?

The ring supplied by Stuller will be heavy enough to be durable and looks very much like the one you saw at Zales. If you are going for a large, fine diamond, then the one by B. Gavin looks like a solid item, but it will cost more (and worth more, too). Don't go overly thin or the durability will suffer.
