If someone has the opportunity, I'd very much appreciate seeing (or having described) an approximate computer simulation of a particular diamond - and feel free for anyone to comment on the stone, although I appreciate that it is an unusual set of proportions.

My dilemma is that the seller doesn't provide images (not so easy to get images in the UK) and I'll have to travel a long way to view the stone in person (so it might save me an all-day round trip, or having to buy the stone and return if unsatisfactory).

Specs as follows (GIA-certified):

6.18 - 6.27 x 3.98mm
Weight: 1.00ct
Depth: 63.9%
Table: 56%
Crown angle: 38.0'
Crown height: 17.0%
Pavilion angle: 39.8'
Pavilion depth: 41.5%
Star length: 50%
Lower half: 75%
Girdle: Slightly thick to thick, faceted (5.0%)
Culet: very small
Polish: Very good
Symmetry: Very good

Thanks

No point with GIA rounding and averaging. Get a full sarin scan.

those numbers don't add up and even if they did it would be a partial fisheye and pretty ugly.

Stone-cold

It feels as if the UK lives in the dark ages when it comes to diamonds and I often reach a point of frustration and despair when trying to find nice diamonds, since it''s such hard work.
Most UK sellers just slap an arbitrary grade on their diamond that is simply based on table and depth, with no regard to other measurements. Almost all UK consumers seem to be content with this arrangement.
and certainly no pictures/Idealscope/ASET/Sarin. It seems as if we''re lucky to even get a lab report with most stones and those that come with a certificate have EGL-certs.
Sarin scan would be impossible with 95% or more of UK sellers - I bet that three quarters of them don''t even know what Sarin or other viewing devices are. Most sellers would simply say "But it''s graded as GIA Excellent, it''s top-notch!" or something similar.
Maybe I''m just not looking in the right places, but believe me; I''ve tried.

Thanks for the link. I''ll take a look at them.

She is an Infinity dealer, the difference will be night and day compared to the others you mentioned.
