Does a knife edge setting mean that visually the shank appears thinner than it actually is? For example if I looked at a 2.5mm knife egde setting face on would it not look as thick as 2.5mm? How thick would it actually look?

Thank you

thanks for the pictures Lisa but what I want to know is does your ring look as thick as 2.5mm (or whatever the measurements are) in real life?

Maybe this picture will help...the ring is thicker against your finger but thinner at the top of the ring (like the blade of a knife). My shank is about 3mm against my finger and it''s tapers to about 1mm so, yes, it really makes it look thin....not quite 1mm thin ''cause you can still see the base of the shank due to the taper, it probably reads about 2mm visually. Does that help?

My Whiteflash 6 prong is knife edge and 2.7mm wide. To me, it looks as thin as my 2mm domed wedding band!

Thanks for the picture Diana and I kind of understand it now lol. Btw Shimmer I love your wedding pictures
