Hello,
I understand an appraisal serves two primary purposes - validate the data provided in an original cert and determine a market price for the diamond.

Can I also get a Sarin analysis/report via an independet appraiser? I would like to confirm the specs for Crown and Pav that come with an AGS-cert.

Thanks.

Independent appraisals can include a sarin analysis if your dealing with an appraiser which has the equipment. AGS is a very reliable lab.

A complete sarin analysis included in an appraisal will have measurements on all the angles of a stone.

Not many appraisers have Sarin or Ogi equipment. They are expensive, but they do a great job when it comes to making rapid and reasoably accurate measurements of diamonds.

We make Sarin or Ogi measurements for anyone who wants them for $10. Mostly it is dealers that need this data, but we have done this for consumers from time to time, too. I don't see any harm in providing this as a stand alone service if someone needs it. These measurements are always included in our appraisals or grading documents for unset diamonds, but occasionally someone just needs a stone measured...Why not?
