Does anyone know what this is called, IMG_5603.JPG where its from or what it's made of? There seems to be a halmark on the back but it's way to small for me to read. the pin itself is tiny.

The lion head surmounting a coronet is Ritz-Carlton's logo and blue is/was one of their brand colours. It's probably a lapel pin worn by employees. Can't help with the hallmark, sorry.

Do you have any idea what those gems are made of?

Does anyone know what this is called,

We always called them "lions" but I am not from the area.

The back does not look like gold with that pebble finish but it is too blurry for me to make out the hallmark.

Google reverse image search was unhelpful, surprisingly:

If it is an employees pin, I would say each stone represents years of service. My company does this.

With 10 years service we received the pin. At 15 years we received the pin with one ruby, 20 years two rubies, 25 years three rubies. Then at 30 years of service we received a diamond….then another diamond for every five years of service. A new pin was given each anniversary.

I’m thinking they’re possibly sapphires and the hallmark could be the the metal used. The finish on the back of your pin (pebble type) looks similar to mine. Ours are made using 9ct gold. The size is approximately 17mm H x 13mm W.

We would wear it with our uniform.

Looks like a tie tack or lapel pin. I think the stamp says STER or sterling.
