Please help! I just received my engagement ring and the band was a bit more wide than I thought it would be. It's currently at 3 mm and I'm thinking of having it fixed to come down to 2.5 mm. Has anyone ever had this done before? If so...can you tell me if it was an expensive process? I will talk to our jeweler tomorrow, but am hoping someone on Pricescope can help! Thanks so much!

Since you just received your ring (and it is lovely) I would ask the jeweler to swap out the setting to get a thinner band.

In my personal opinion, your ring is fab. I like that thickness. It looks great with diamond, but if you are not happy, I would return it and ask for thinner band.

Hello! I can''t tell by looking at your band whether it can be done in your case or not. I have a half rounded band that was around the 2.3mm mark (Tiff style). I wanted to have it rounded off more so the edges looked more fluid and they were able to do that for $125 Australian dollars. This brought the band width down the 2.0mm mark. I am not sure if it was doable for me as the band was already rounded?

I would start by having a chat to the jeweller that made it. They can either shave the band down or swap the setting out I guess. Although the ring is beautiful as is, I would follow your heart on this one and have it changed if you want. My ring was gorgous when I got it, workmanship percfect, but I had this little niggle about the width and the shape of the round (if that makes sense). As soon as I saw it after the band was changed, I knew it was perfect and worth the messing about.
